The Origin of the Passover
God chose Moses and used him to bring about the emancipation of the Israelites, who had groaned under their Egyptian slavery for 430 years.
When Moses was eighty years old, God commanded him to ask Pharaoh to let the Israelites go; however, Pharaoh refused and he became even more rebellious against God, afflicting the Israelites more severely. God was enraged and brought plagues upon the whole land of Egypt: the plagues of blood, of frogs, of flies...of darkness. The heart of Pharaoh became more hardened and he stubbornly refused to let the Israelites go. God allowed Pharaoh's heart to become hardened so that He could judge Egypt.
Through the tenth plague, God decided to kill every firstborn of Egypt—both men and animals—and appointed the fourteenth day of the first month, by sacred year. God didn't want the firstborn of the Israelites to die along with the firstborn of the Egyptians, so He ordered the Israelites to put the blood of a year-old lamb on their doorframes and housetops.
Ex. 12:1-14 『..."The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect ...Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight...This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the LORD's Passover...The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt. This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD—a lasting ordinance."』
The blood of the lamb became the sign of God's people, and the destroying angels passed over the Israelites' houses, where the blood had been painted. This day was called the Passover, meaning that the disaster would "pass over."
On that day, the Israelites put the lamb's blood on their doorframes, ate its roasted meat, and prepared to go on a journey. That night, as the Israelites waited, loud wailing could be heard. All of the firstborn of Egypt—including the firstborn of Pharaoh—were killed.
During the night, Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and told them to leave Egypt. The Egyptians, who had suffered all kinds of plagues, wanted the Israelites to leave quickly and gave them articles of silver and gold, even clothing.
The Passover was the day when God freed the Israelites from the slavery of Egypt. This was a shadow of the things to come. In the New Testament times, the Passover is the only feast through which God's people can receive the forgiveness of their sins and can be saved from all disasters.

World mission society Church of God - The Passover of the New Covenant
The Passover of the New Covenant
When Christians are asked, "Have you received salvation?" they reply, "Yes," but if they are asked, "Do you celebrate the Passover?" most of them will hesitate in answering. Actually, no one can be said to be "saved" without knowing about the Passover.
The Church of God is the only church in the world that celebrates the Passover of the new covenant on the fourteenth day of the first month—by sacred year—as was written in the Bible (Lev. 23:4). The Church of God can celebrate the Passover because the Second Coming Christ, Ahnsahnghong, has restored the Passover that Jesus established two thousand years ago.
The Passover is one of the most important feasts that God has granted because God promised to give us the forgiveness of our sins and eternal life through the Passover.
Also, by celebrating the Passover, we can escape from all disasters. Even in the Old Testament times, there was a marked difference between the people who celebrated the Passover and the people who did not. Those who did not celebrate the Passover were always destroyed.
In other words, if we do not celebrate the Passover, we cannot have the forgiveness of our sins or eternal life, nor can we be saved from the last disasters. The Church of God, that believes in the prophecies of the Bible, celebrates the Passover—the truth of the Early Church, following the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong.

The Truth Always Prevails
Copernicus and Galileo, advocates of the heliocentric theory, were also judged and regarded as heretics. In those days, the Roman Catholic Church supported the geocentric theory, the belief that the earth is the center of the universe and that the sun, the moon, and the stars move around the earth.
The theories of Copernicus and Galileo were treated as mere heresy for a long time. However, as the field of science developed, their heliocentric theory became common knowledge, and the astronomers are now respected as pioneers.
By studying the Bible, we can clearly understand what heresy is. If you believe in God, and if you believe that the Bible was written by people who were moved by the Holy Spirit, you will surely be able to discern the true church from the churches practicing heresy.
Our standard of judgment must be the Bible, not the opinions of men. The Church of God, established by Christ Ahnsahnghong, follows only the teachings of the Bible, and can thus be easily recognized as the true Church.
Just as a good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and as a bad tree cannot bear good fruit, the people who refuse to follow the teachings of the Bible will never be able to enter the kingdom of heaven.
The truth always prevails!

Christ Ahnsahnghong - Was Jesus a Heretic? - World mission society Church of God
Was Jesus a Heretic?
Sometimes, senseless people blame the true Church, calling it "heresy," when the number of the heresy-believers surpasses that of truth-believers.
1) Jesus, too, was treated as a heretic
The Jewish people who lived two thousand years ago referred to Christianity as the "Nazarene sect,"persecuting Christians for following Jesus, who was from Nazareth (Acts 24:5). Regarding Him as a heretic, the Jews tried to kill Jesus many times.
John 8:59 『At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.』
John 10:30-31 『"I and the Father are one." Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him...』
John 11:53 『So from that day on they plotted to take his life.』
The religious leaders of that time, who regarded Jesus as a heretic, had not recognized their sin until they handed Him over to be crucified. They believed that their actions were just, even faithful to God, and they boldly shouted, "Let his blood be on us and on our children!"(Matt. 27: 23-25).
When God appears in the flesh, He is still God, not a man; however, the people thought that Jesus’divinity was only self-proclaimed. When Jesus asked the Jews why they wanted to stone Him, they answered very confidently, "We are not stoning you for any of these, but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God"(John 10:33). By their actions, the Jews treated Jesus as if he had been a heretic.
2) Jesus’disciples were also called heretics
Do you think that the people who condemned Jesus, by claiming that He was a heretic, acknowledged His disciples? When the Apostles preached the gospel, the Jews denounced them, too. They assumed that the disciples were only heretics who had worshipped Jesus, the son of a carpenter, and had fabricated His divinity. The disciples, who proclaimed that Jesus was the Christ, were flogged (Acts 5:40), chased (Acts 9:23-25), and even stoned to death (Acts 7:59).
Acts 24:1-9 『"We have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect."』
Acts 7:59-60 『While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed..."Lord, do not hold this sin against them."When he had said this, he fell asleep [died].』
3) A present-day view of heresy
When a deacon of the Protestant church first heard the truth, he asked the pastor of the Protestant church, "I happen to know of a church that proclaims that the Sabbath day is Saturday, not Sunday, and that the 25th of December is not the birthday of Jesus. Are this church’s teachings correct?"
The pastor’s answer was ridiculous, "Biblically, the Sabbath day is Saturday, and the 25th of December is not the birthday of Jesus, but any church that keeps the Sabbath and does not celebrate Christmas is heretical."
What does his answer mean?
His standard of judgment is not the Bible, but the doctrine of his own denomination. Since Jesus and His disciples kept the Sabbath day and did not celebrate Christmas, were they heretics? Today, people accuse those who follow the teachings of Jesus, calling them heretics. They use the same arguments as those who denounced Jesus as a heretic.

World mission society Church of God - Comparison Between Heresy and Truth
Comparison Between Heresy and Truth
As stated above, heretics are those who do not follow the laws of God—those who practice lawlessness. Among the many heresies in the world, let’s focus on the concept of Sunday service.
The Sabbath day—the seventh day, Saturday—is one of God’s commandments. All history books testify to this fact. For example, one of the many Catholic books, The Faith of Millions by Reverend John A. O’Brien, records as follows: "But since Saturday, not Sunday, is specified in the Bible, isn’t it curious that non-Catholics who profess to take their religion directly from the Bible and not from the Church, observe Sunday instead of Saturday? Yes, of course, it is inconsistent; but this change was made about fifteen centuries before Protestantism was born, and by that time the custom was universally observed. They have continued the custom, even though it rests upon the authority of the Catholic Church and not upon an explicit text in the Bible"(pp. 400-401). It is clear that Sunday service is a rule of men, not of God.
Among so many heresies, we have only explored the origin of Sunday service. The Sabbath day is God’s commandment, but Sunday service is a man-made teaching—heresy. Therefore, the Church of God, which follows the teachings of Second Coming Christ Ahnsahnghong, can be proven as the true Church because it keeps the Sabbath day.

World mission society Church of God - The Result of Heresy: Destruction
The Result of Heresy: Destruction
As we have studied, those who follow the ways of heresy will be led to destruction.
From the standpoint of Christianity, heretics are those who do not follow the teachings of the Bible. Heresy is the weeds that have been sown by the devil in an effort to bring the way of truth into disrepute. Then, which church can be considered heretical: the Church of God—that follows the teachings of the Bible—or the religious bodies that do not follow the teachings of the Bible, obstinately blaming the Church of God because it follows doctrines which are different than their own?
Jesus foretold the appearance of heretical teachings.
Matt. 13:24-42『... "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away...Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn...As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age...They will weed out everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."』

Characteristics of Heresy
2 Pet. 2:1『But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.』
① Heresy results in destruction.
② Heresy brings the way of truth into disrepute.
③ Heretics teach the rules of men—that is, they teach the stories that have been made up by men—not the words of the Bible.
④ Heretics are false prophets who rebel against God.
⑤ Heretics can never be saved.
It is not wise for a man to pass judgment on a church, simply because it is a church that he has never attended. The Bible must be our standard of judgment. All of the churches that do not follow the Bible will be destroyed in the end.
Matt. 7:21-29 『"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven...Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock...But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."』

What Is Heresy?
The word, "heresy," has historically never been used as frequently as it is today. Since the advent of Christianity, even non-Christians have thoughtlessly used the word, without ever considering its true meaning.
The Church of God believes in Christ Ahnsahnghong, who came, wearing the flesh, in accordance with the prophecies of Jesus’ second coming. The Church of God keeps the Passover and the Sabbath day, as Christ taught; however, the world rejects the Church, arguing, "They believe in a man," and, "They keep the Sabbath." The Bible testifies that the churches keeping Sunday service, Christmas, and Thanksgiving Day, and who revere the cross and the Virgin Mary—without ever referring to the Bible—are the true heretics.
We need to come to understand what "heresy" truly is. If we do not realize what is seen as heresy in the eyes of God, we will be led into destruction. The word "heresy" means the dissent or deviation from a dominant truth of God—that is, the adherence to lawlessness.

Mother, the Example of Love and Patience - Ahnsahnghong
Mother, the Example of Love and Patience
NATION | PeruNAME | Jennifer SanchezI always missed Mother. However, when I arrived in Korea, I was very nervous and fearful about meeting Mother; I felt like a child who made a mistake and hesitated to enter her home, being afraid that she would be scolded by her parents. I felt I was too sinful to come to Mother.
However, Mother didn't rebuke me, a sinner, but hugged me in Her arms, saying, "I love you." To this sinner deserving of eternal punishment, Mother said that She loves me. Mother's love is truly amazing.
While I stayed in Korea, I came to realize Mother's infinite love and sacrifice. Mother took care of everything-even the smallest things-for us, always staying with us. She served us with love and humility. Her tender smile filled our hearts with joy; Her words to enlighten our souls were reminiscent of our memory of heaven. Showing us a true example, which only God could give, Mother loved us with an untiring love.
When we saw Korean brothers and sisters serving us from early morning until late at night, I realized that they were the people who truly realized Mother's love. Seeing them, I looked back upon myself who always wanted to be served.
Whenever I saw Mother, I was reminded of Her years of suffering; She gave up Her heavenly glory and honor in order to seek Her lost children. I am a sinner who does not even deserve to see Mother, ask Her for the forgiveness of my sins or receive Her mercy, but Mother allowed me to stay beside Her and bestowed Her grace upon me. She has sacrificed everything for us; She is truly our Mother.
Through this visit, I could realize many things which I had wanted to know. I saw and listened to Father's path of sacrifice at the Church History Museum. Father, who came for the second time for our salvation, wrote the Truth Books while doing arduous work such as carrying heavy stones, to make the new covenant known to His children and to give them eternal life. I tried carrying a stone which was similar to what Father had carried on His shoulder. Even when four sisters and I tried to lift the stone, we couldn't bear its weight. Feeling very sorry toward Father and being ashamed of myself, I started crying on the spot. It seemed like the heavy stone Father carried was my grievous sin.
Mother taught us the necessity of the Holy Spirit and told us to ask Father for the Holy Spirit even in the smallest matters, so that we could follow God's will. This is Mother's wish for us in this age. Following the words of Mother, I want to be a gospel worker who works according to God's will, not to my own will.
Even though it was a short visit, the time spent with Mother in Korea was like a dream. I will never forget the precious moments. I didn't really want to part from Mother, but I knew that Mother's will for us is to accomplish the gospel of the heavenly kingdom in our own situations, so I committed myself to carrying out the mission of preaching to the fullest when I returned to Peru. I will walk the path of true faith, following the example of love and patience Mother has showed us. I hope that every member of Zion will do the gospel work always with gratitude in their given circumstances, remembering the sacrifice of Heavenly Father and Mother.
Mother, You give us power to overcome all difficulties in this troubled world and guide us to the bright heavenly way. Looking forward to the day You sits on Your glorious throne in heaven, I give all glory, honor, and praise to You, Mother!

The Spirit - Ahnsahnghong
The Spirit
"What happens to a man when he dies?"..."Does a man really have a spirit?"... "Where does a man go when he dies?" Questions such as these have been a matter of great interest throughout history, but no one has been able to answer them. Men eager to find such answers wrote great philosophies, but mere philosophers could never realize how they had been created.
Christ Ahnsahnghong came to the earth, established the Church of God, and taught us that all men are angels who have come to the earth after sinning in heaven. He let us know how valuable we are and revealed to us the true purpose of our lives.
The Spirit Revealed Through the Creation of Human Beings
Gen. 2:7 『...The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.』
The dust is not the essence of life; God didn't name the dust itself a "living being." Only after God had breathed the breath of life into the dust, did He call it a "living being." Therefore, the essence of life is not the flesh, but the breath of life, the spirit that God breathed into the dust. Man's flesh is made from the dust, but his spirit is made by God, and is from God.
Solomon wrote, "The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it" (Eccl. 12:7).

My True Life - Ahnsahnghong
My True Life
We often wonder, "Who am I?" Some say, "Man eats to live," while others argue that, "Man lives to eat." Neither of these opinions is correct.
Our main essence is not our physical body, but the spirit inside our body. Our spirit lives in the tent we call our "body." When we go camping, we only stay in a tent for a few days, don't we? The time we spend in the tent is temporary. Likewise, our life within the body—our tent—is only a temporary life.
If we live for our physical body, it means that we are living for our house. Life is to live for ourselves, not for the houses we dwell in.
In our life of faith, we sometimes focus on our physical life more than our spiritual life. Of course, as long as we are in the body, we can't deny the physical life; however, if we live only for a temporary tent which will soon disappear, how pitiful will our life be?
We live in these tents because of our sin, but after we receive the forgiveness of our sins, redemption—under the grace of Christ, the Passover Lamb—our eternal houses wait for us. Let's reconsider what we should focus on while we live on this earth.
2 Cor. 4:18 『So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.』
